Beautiful Business Cards with Miranti

I’ve had business cards on the brain lately! For some reason getting business cards has been a task that I’ve been putting off but this week I’ve (finally!) been looking into getting some of my very own.

It can feel like a rather daunting task to try and figure out how a tiny two-sided piece of card will represent you, your business, and your brand. Your business card will help others determine how they view you. You want your impression to linger long after your conversation has ended and you want that impression to be positive and a accurate representation of what you do.

The good news is that there is no shortage of beautiful business cards on the interwebs to inspire you! Here are some of my favourite business card designs for your inspiration. Enjoy!

1. Letterpress Balsa Wood Business Cards.
2. Joy Ever After.
3. Card Observer – Hand Stitched Business Cards.
4. Haven Business Cards.
5. Sodapop Design.

7. Designspiration.

Talking table numbers

Today Janelle from Joan’s Heart is talking about table numbers! Thanks for your guest post Janelle.

Paper has its place in a number of things at an event – save the dates, invitations, programs, menus and escort cards. And, don’t forget table numbers! As guests meander throughout a venue, searching for their table, you can help them along with something different. Attention-grabbing table numbers are often a combination of paper with an interesting typography, color and/or texture, and a unique table number holder.

Here are some of my favorite table number ideas.

The table number is incorporated into the centerpiece, for a very clean, simple look. Perfect for an outdoor garden or vintage-inspired event, the kraft paper and handwritten style would be a great DIY project. (Image source).

For a rustic event, consider a simple paper number and a unique table number holder like these wood branch table number holders from Etsy seller, Sunday Hatch.

Like the rustic wood branch table number holder, this knot table number holder is great way to play up a theme, like nautical. Let your theme inspire a creative table number choice. (Image source).

Etsy is a fantastic source for printed and printable table numbers.

Talking about weddings with Stacey

When one starts planning a wedding, the first thought is usually about dresses, flowers, bridesmaids etc. Not me, I was excited about cake and the stationary. Just a quick Google of ‘wedding invites‘ yields some beautiful designers but I knew what I wanted for our Save the Dates. Combine that with local designer Sarah Enid and we ended up with perfect Save The Date postcards. They were exactly what we wanted, and even more.

Now that the Save the Dates are out (small public service announcement never abbreviate Save the Dates, ever) it gives us more time to work on the invites. I plan on making these myself but I will have enough time to change my mind and purchase some if needed, and there really are some lovely designs out there.

With winter just around the corner, you can’t go past these themed invites. Here are some of my favourites.

All About Envelopes (with Miranti)

Picture this… you pen your loved one/bestie/mama the cutest note written on the most darling note card. Then… you chuck it into a standard white envelope. Oh dear.

It just doesn’t seem right does it?

But have you noticed that there are actually some crazy-gorgeous envelopes out there at the moment? Long gone are the days when envelopes were the plain Jane bit of paper that housed the star of the show. Envelopes are the bomb! They come with lovely illustrations, to-die-for lining, and beautiful bold colours. Now your addressee can be wowed before they even open your darling note.

Is white alright? | Moleskine’s new colour

I’ve loved Moleskine notebooks ever since I first laid my big eyes and little hands on them. Yes I have purchased many different notebooks since but I always find myself going back to them. There’s something in their quality and clean lines. And then you open it up and see nothing but lines for days. No fluff and no distraction from your writing. And the 6mm ruled lines… loveliness! Ok the stationery freak in me has truly emerged. Oh my! I’ve always been partial to the classic range but lately I’ve been eying off the ever so cool and casual cahiers. Especially in kraft.

And then this happened. My beloved classic notebook now comes in white. It’s been described as the perfect blank canvas. The new black. But I’m undecided actually. I mean don’t get me wrong… white is good, I love white. White is bright and pure. White is cotton linen, and marshmallows, and snow. I suppose the white cover could make for some amazing washi cover art. But it’s just not the notebook I know. Perhaps I’m being picky. What do you think? Are you a fan? I’m totally open to your thoughts. Let’s discuss.
