Competition time

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this on the blog before but I am super excited to have been named as one of the top 26 Creative and Home blogs in Kidspot’s Voices of 2013. Pretty Paper Things was nominated by a lovely (so far anonymous) person. I love you anonymous person.

As a part of Voices of 2013 Ford Australia is running the Choose Your Own Adventure Challenge and I’m one of 20 lucky bloggers to be picked. I get the use of a sweet candy red Ford Focus Titanium for six wonderful weeks.

I can’t even tell you how this has impacted my life in the short time I’ve had the red beast. If you looked up ‘reclusive writer’ on the Google-thingy I’d be at the top of the page with a not-so-flattering pic of me in my jimmyjams because that is how I roll. It’s not that I don’t want to go out…it’s just that we are a one car family and during the work week I’m car-less.

But not anymore babies!

Each fortnight I’ll be posting a little bit about the car and the adventures I’m having. As this blog is for serious paper nerds I’ll be sure to give my posts a little bit of a paper spin too. I’m not being paid to post this stuff but (there’s always a but, right?) I am in the running to win the use of a Ford Focus Titanium for a whole year and that would be CRAZY INSANE.

I’m in the midst of prepping up this week’s post and I need your help.

WIN! WIN! WIN!

We’re heading off on a road trip this weekend and I need your help to compile a killer road trip playlist.

Leave a comment telling me your favourite driving tune and you’ll go in the running to win a 3 month Spotify Premium e-card or a stationery-filled care package full of my favourite things. (unfortunately the Spotify Premium e-card is for Aussies only but international folks are welcome to enter. I’ll send the care package anywhere)

This contest closes on Tuesday August 13th and the winner will be chosen at random. I can’t wait to see your suggestions!

get some Preatures, ‘Take a Card’ will have you groovin, dancing and generally making a fool of yourself in front of people outside your car 😉 x

Road trips for me mean Paul Simon’s Graceland album on repeat, thanks to a long ago family trip in a rented lilac Caravan we dubbed the Purple People Eater. We rocked that album from RI to VA. “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes” makes a particularly fantastic song along song.

“Andy Grammer” is Andy Grammer’s self-titled first album, and I love it SO MUCH. Also really awesome for chilled driving is Bryan Adam’s MTV Unplugged album from 1997.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!! 🙂

    Congrats Krissy and good luck!

I’ll never forget my road trips through the desert SouthWest of the USA listening to U2.

Right now, I would definitely be listening to “Pricetag” by Jessie J.
