As a life-long Beastie Boys fan I was (and still am) devastated by Adam Yauch’s death, like I know so many music lovers are. I guess I feel lucky knowing that his music, and Beastie fan art, lives on.
Rest peacefully MCA.
Lara Cameron, of Ink & Spindle, has stepped away from textiles for just a wee moment and designed a set of three limited edition digital artist prints featuring Proteaflora. The colours look incredible, as does the design. Simple elegance. I love it. The prints come in two sizes A1 and A2 and are printed on ecologically friendly stock.

Here in Perth we actually had some rain today – hooray! In celebration I give you this lovely little letterpress print from Pearl Marmalade. I’m sure this polka dot parasol carrying bear would brighten up even the gloomiest of days!

Fancy some more art? Of course you do.
Today I’d like to introduce you to the loveliness that is Penelope and Pip. Illustrator Rachael Smith creates whimsical peeks into a world of cloud keepers and magical bears where love conquers all. I think her description sums up her work perfectly “The characters in my world of make-believe are inspired by everything charming and sweet about this beautiful world we all share.” So lovely.

I came across the work of Anne Ten Donkelaar via The Jealous Curator and wow, I’m speechless. Anne creates these amazing flower constructions from floral paper cutouts and real pressed flowers. The end result is breathtaking. Check out her site for more pics.

Not being from the United States I’m not really down on the ‘state bird’ thing but I can appreciate these gorgeous illustrations drawn by Kelsey Oseid and sold in her shop Kulzuki. She’s drawn a whole series of states illustrated according to the feather patterns of their respective birds. Neat idea right?

Love, love, love The Love Shop (especially the first print, it’s become my mantra of late). If I had money in my PayPal they’d be shipping me a huuuuge order! (Ooohhh The Love Shop is having a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal at the moment. Head on over to choose from their range of 8 x 10 prints.)

Yes, things certainly have been oh so quiet in these parts of late but I have a super excuse. My hard drive fried for the second time in a month! Me and the Mr had to do some iMac surgery to get everything working (it was touch and go for a while). Then I had to reinstall all my software which has been a nightmare! Yikes. I am really hoping that things run smoothly from now on. Fingers and toes crossed pleased!
I thought I’d share this sweet poster from Malaysian illustrator Lim Heng Swee because I’m haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappy to be back 🙂
