Notemaker becomes Milligram Studio

So Notemaker dropped some pretty big news yesterday. They’ve announced a few changes, the first being a name change from Notemaker to Milligram Studio. They’ll also be opening physical stores (the first being in Melbourne) as well as launching their own stationery line. All existing Notemaker goodies – like the coveted ‘Friend for life’ status (yes, of course I have it) will remain the same. It sounds like there are some exciting times ahead and I can’t wait to see what comes next for the team.

Speaking of things coming next, I’m really liking the look of the Milligram branded diaries. They’re beautifully designed (they collabed with Beci Orpin on the design so it’s a given), with simple, yet usable layouts and they can (apparently) withstand most pens and fountain pen ink which is always a bonus. I’ll be sure to get my hands on one or two so stay tuned.

Rifle Paper Co journals

rifle7

The team at Rifle Paper Co have been hard at work adding new products to their ever-growing range of paper goodies, which is awesome for us stationery lovers. I’ve been a big fan of the biz for a while so it was a treat to get hands-on with Rifle’s new Vintage Blossoms and Rosa journal combos recently.

The Vintage Blossoms set consists of two journals that are 150mm x 202mm and contain 48 blank pages. The cover is made from a thin cardboard and while it has some sturdiness to it, it would be easy to crease or damage if not careful. The cover features beautiful illustrations with that unmistakable Rifle style. It also has gold foil accents that really elevate the design to another level.

The Rosa set (below) is smaller in size with each book measuring 106mm x 139mm. They feature the same thin cardboard cover but it’s made stronger because of the smaller size. The Rosa set also features gold foil accents. This smaller set is the perfect size to carry around in your bag.

All of Rifle’s notebooks are printed on high quality paper FSC-certified paper stocks. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), is an organisation created to ensure sustainable forestry and holds the highest level of environmental standards in the paper industry. The inside paper stock is a cream colour and is untextured. I didn’t do a pen test on these notebooks because I’m giving them away.

Thanks to my friends at Notemaker for giving me with these gorgeous journals to review. Notemaker stocks a whole bunch of Rifle Paper Co goodies so make sure you pop by and have a look.

Thanks to Notemaker I am giving away 4 Rifle Paper Co journals to one lucky reader. All you’ve got to do to be in the running is tell me one good thing that has happened to you this week. Use as many words as you like here in the comments, on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The competition ends at 11:59pm Wednesday August 24th and is open to International readers.

New Game of Thrones themed Moleskines

If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones (who isn’t?!) you’re going to love these special Game of Throne Moleskines.

This Limited Edition series features four hard cover designs, each with a different house – House Lannister, House Stark (two different designs) and House Targaryen. Each notebooks’ cover band includes a history about that house, and the front and back inside covers have detailed maps of Westeros. How freaking awesome, right?

Yay for May!

It’s May – yay! May is my birth month (May 21st) and trust me when I say I am not one for sweeping my birthday under the rug. I love my birthday! I love celebrating my birthday! I love presents (hint, hint). I don’t like the fact that I’m edging closer towards 40 but hey let’s not talk about that, ok?!

In honour of it being May I thought we’d take a look at some emerald beauties.

Decomposition Notebooks

I spied these Decomposition Notebooks on the Notemaker site the other day and fell in notebook love. They are so pretty!

Designed by Brooklyn-based Michael Roger, Inc, Decomposition Notebooks are made using 100% recycled paper, soy ink and bio-gas making them some of the most environmentally friendly notebooks on Earth. Unlike other envirofriendly stationery though, the quality doesn’t suffer. Very, very cool.

1. Beachwood.
2. Red Hibiscus.
3. Wild Garden.
4. Pocket Pegasus.

Again with the postcards!

I know! I blogged about postcards yesterday but you have to indulge me because these ones are so cute. The Ask Alice Postcard Book is 24 pages of sweetness. The designs are quirky and each card is printed on thick 100% recycled stock. Designed and made in Melbourne, the book contains 12 hand-drawn designs – so you get 2 of each – one to keep, one to save!
